Will Twitter API support CORS Headers soon?

#1

The Twitter API does not currently have CORS headers on their request endpoints. Here’s the message I got today in my console log browser:

What is the timeline / plan for including CORS headers for the Twitter API?

More info about CORS and how it conflicts with Dart / Javascript: https://www.dartlang.org/articles/json-web-service/#a-note-on-cors-and-httprequest

Found a workaround, but only for Chrome Extensions: https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/xhr

An extension can talk to remote servers outside of its origin, as long as it first requests cross-origin permissions.

#3

This has been requested before, and there are no plans at present - the typical pattern is that requests to the Twitter API happen at the backend rather than directly, say, from within a browser-based app.

#4

How about media uploads (photos, videos) from a Web site? Having these proxied through a server is not necessarily a good idea.

Thanks for the information.
Any updates on CORS (or) any plans for supporting CORS headers in twitter API.
