Why result_type=popular in search/tweets doesn't return retweets by the user (only his oragnic and popular tweets)?

Hi!

While running a search with API1.1, I use result_type=popular to get all the “popular” tweets by the user (from:xyz), all I’m getting is the tweets the user creates, and never his retweets (no matter how popular they are).
Is there an underlying reason for that? Or a mistake on my behalf?

Does the popular search return a maximum of 3 results per calling?

Hi Andrei,

As far as i know, the search function return only the tweets from that user. Retweets are from origin not from that user.

With the parameter “count” you can give up the number of returning tweets. default is 15 with a max of 100
