Why do you lose followers when your twitter account gets suspended?

dear twitter,
I recently got suspended for following aggressively and I haven’t and all my followers have gone! I filled out a ticket and it said that all my followers and the people are following would go back to the number but its gone past an hour and it hasn’t gone back to the normal number! please help! if you have the same problem please reply back

Following relationships are heavily cached on Twitter. When a user account crosses states (such as suspended to unsuspended) it can take several hours for the cache to re-populate.
