To solve this issue use “https” (secure) instead of “http” in your app.js file. This will get out of that message of request token invalid.

Hi there:

1 year after the last post, I know, but my App has 3 years working fine an now I’m having the same issue. I’m looking for help.

I have regenerated the Twitter Key and secret but have no success. I have checked the Twitter server’s time and it mach my server’s time.

Some clients can login and some others don’t. One client told me that he cleared his history and after that was able to login.

I can’t ask every one to clear their cache. I’m using now a meta tag avoiding to cache my site, but this is going to slow down every one.

Any one has found a way to solve this?

Hah! Seeing from my own post that oath_token value is null/empty hmm, that’s a clue…

Ok to put it clearly for anyone else who might refer to this or experience the same;

It appears this error occurs when your authorisation URL redirect to Twitter has either invalid/old/expired or NULL $token value.

Make sure your auth URL contains the temp token value received from Twitter like this;

$url = $connection->getAuthorizeURL($request_token['oauth_token']);

This resolved the problem after I noticed from the image I posted above that parameter oauth_token had no value.

Hi there. I solved the issue. Was a problem with browser cache. The Cache was redirecting the users to the callback address directly with the cached Auth Token

I’m having the same problem using Laravel 5.6 / Socialite but only on Https pre-production site while Http site on localhost works fine.
Localhost’s address looks like http://accompagner.XXXX.local while the preprod one is like https://preprod.accompagner.XXXX.fr. Does it matter ?
I can observe many exchanges (more than 50) between twitter and the preprod site in the tasks bar before it ends up with the “Whoa there!” message after a while.

Moreover, in the chrome debug bar I can read:

I have the same problem. I can fixit removing cockies but I need to send to production tomorrow and can’t force users to do this. Normaly work fine at first time, is really random
I do the following checks

1. Server time is fine
2. Web is https
