We’re running a service for some users where they can DM a link a small subset of their followers. We’re very careful regarding the 1k a day limit and the 5 “free” ones you get when a user responds. All on the up and up and we rarely have any issues.
EXCEPT when a user tries to send a link. He gets hit almost immediately with the “looks automated” error.
We’re sending a link by simply including the link “text” in the DM. Is there another way to send a link in a DM that doesn’t trip the spam sensors? AFAIK I thought the five free DMs you get in a 24 hour period were free of rate limits but maybe that’s not the case for link?
Again we only have issues when a link is sent.
FWIW we’re using the /1.1/direct_messages/events/new.json endpoint (of course)
