Hello,

Our app is currently requesting Read, Write, and DM access, but we would like to decrease this since we don’t actually need DM access or the ability to write. Is Read/Write a permission necessary to use the Enterprise API? Or could we switch to Read Only?

Thank you for your response! We’re using the /totals endpoint for the Engagements API.

Hey Sara,
We use this endpoint too and we don’t have DM permission. I believe you can use read permission for this endpoint (This should be the same for most analytics endpoints, the only exception I can think of, is Account Activity API, which for some reason requires DM permission, not sure why!)

What about Write permissions?

Hi Sara,
Write permissions should work too. Some of our users have read and some have write, and this endpoint works on both groups.

For the Engagement API, this endpoint only requires read permissions. I hope this helps!
