Hi all.
I am experimenting with Twitter Player Cards, and thinking about creating some playable experiences that are self-contained within Player Cards, as an interesting new type of game. As I can tell, Player Cards are the simplest to implement this with, but Player Cards are clearly only meant to be used for ‘linear audio or video content’.
In the Player Card documentation it mentions:
Instead, build these interactive experiences with our other Card types - can anybody clarify what other Card type I should use for this?
To see a tweet with an example of the kind of thing I am thinking about exploring you can search the tweet ‘NEW GAME MODE RELEASED’ by @ClayLoam.
Thanks!
In https://www.familiars.io/ it looks like it’s a summary_large_image card, and the interactive part is on the website itself not in the twitter card (at least for me it loaded that way) Summary with large image | Docs | Twitter Developer Platform
So - some of the tags on the site seem to imply it’s a summary_large_image card, but when I look at the actual tweet, it’s fully playable within the twitter card (which, when I inspect the html, seems to have loaded as a PlayerCard, which is what I’ve seen other people use. I’ve attached an image.
It kind of feels like the answer to this is “technically the Player Card shouldn’t be used for interactive things, and that’s against the TOS, but we won’t really worry about it unless you do something problematic”, which is a stance I’m ok with, if that’s the answer, but I’m just seeking a bit of clarity about the intended way to implement something like this I suppose, haha.
I tried it on a different device, and you’re right - it does load the card with the game!
I’ve no idea how that’s done!
