Webhook possibilties

Hello everyone,

I’m really sorry because I think this topic probably exists but I didn’t find it.
I would like to know if it’s possible to create a webhook on an account I don’t own.

Let’s say I want my webhook to be called every time a specific account creates a new tweet and retrieve the tweet content, would that be possible?

You would need that account to authenticate to your webhook in order to do that. Otherwise, your better option would be to use the statuses/filter streaming API and the follow:username parameter to track Tweets from that user, assuming that they are public Tweets.

So i’ve been trying to test the webhook on an account that I created.
Webhook was successfully created but I tried to favorite a tweet of a account I’m suscribed to but it didn’t trigger anything.
The goal for me would be to trigger the webhook when I create a new tweet, and retrieve the tweet content.
I’ve been reading the documentation but I’m sorry to say I don’t understand most of it.

Could you maybe help me? Or give me directions to the right documentation or service?

If you are just trying to track when a user posts a new Tweet in realtime, especially if you don’t own that account, you should seriously consider our realtime streaming products (statuses/filter or PowerTrack) instead of the Account Activity API.

If you would like to pull other activities from your subscribed users, then the Account Activity API is the right choice for you.

If you do go with the Account Activity API, we have some libraries that you might want to consider using to help get set up:
