Web intents user profile being retired?

Hi there.

I’ve noticed that embedded tweets on websites (generated using widgets.js) are no longer linking @usernames to a web intents’ pop-up like they used to (referred to as “Follow and Mini-Profile” intents at https://dev.twitter.com/docs/intents) and now just open the standard user profile in a new tab.

Is there a reason for this change? Will web intents or user profile intents be retired soon?

Bumping this thread as I’d really like an answer please!

Also noticed that clicking on a user name in an intent popup now just loads the user’s full profile in the same (small) window instead of opening it in a new tab of the parent window. Very annoying.
