Web Intent URL parameter with Spaces

I’m having trouble with the web intent url parameter. I am passing an encoded URL with spaces, but it doesn’t get posted in the status box when the pages opens. For example https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=www.twitter.com%2FX%20Y%2F1.jpg

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

First the URL scheme (http:// or https://) is required.
Have you tried also escaping the space once more (so in the intent URL it’s %2520 instead of %20?
And by the way you don’t need to escape slashes (/).
https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=http://www.example.com/X%20Y/1.jpg should do the trick
