We don't want our og:image to be used in our twitter summary card

#1

Hi,

We are looking at validating our twitter cards (example URL: http://www.businessspectator.com.au/news/2014/8/1/retail/david-jones-sales-q4-surge) which currently has an og:image tag on it. We don’t want to use this image at all, so is there anyway to disable the open graph fallback?

Thanks.

I would try adding the twitter:image tag and settings its content to an empty string. This will effectively cause a crawling error when attempting to get the image, but the card should render without looking for the og:image backup.
