WARN: No metatags found

Am getting the now infamous “No metatags found” error. Have reviewed the many posts here, and cannot find a solution. Need to take the analysis to another level, but dont know how to do that.

Here is an example URL:

Curious thing, if I view the source code of the page, copy that source content and put it into a test page, upload that test page, it does pass the card validation process.

I’m having the same problem: the original page, https://avris.it/texts/roboty-do-roboty, has WARN: No metatags found, however the copy-pasted HTML code in https://avris.it/twitter.html works perfectly fine.

The HTML is exactly the same for both URLs, both have content-type: text/html, so why is one of them not handled correctly?

It still doesn’t work even if I clean up the headers in the original URL to be:

For some reason the first one is returning HTTP 500 when the crawler tries to fetch the page. I cannot tell why that is, given that using curl with the correct user-agent works correctly locally.

Thank you very much! It was caused by the X_B3_TRACEID header, which my application was rejecting.

Could you please consider for the future making the error message in the Card Validator more expressive? If only it said “Crawler encountered a 500 response”, it would take me like 10 minutes to fix it

Absolutely - that would be a good improvement we could make. I cannot promise we’ll be able to do that soon, but I’ll definitely take note of it.
