I am confused by the current widget offerings. We want to place a live feed on our site that is a mix of one hashtag and a couple of accounts (basically a school-district-wide hashtag and the accounts of superintendent, IT guy, etc. for official announcements.

  1. The publish webpage seems to be one thing at a time. If enter a compound query it barfs. It will take hashtags. It will take accounts. OR or AND don’t seem to work

  2. The “list” widget publish option only works for accounts(?)

  3. Near as I can tell the old widgets that did this have expired.

Can somebody give me a hint which direction to go? Trying to sort through the mish-mash of announcements and “documentation” has already consumed in inordinate amount of time.

I am just trying to replace my current feed widget which can’t be edited because it is expired(?)

Hi @johnellenbe,

You’re correct. We’ve ended support for Search Timelines. Please read the announcement here: Deprecating widget settings.

However, you might be able to achieve some of what you’re looking for by using a Profile, List, or Collection timeline. All of these are actively supported. You can read more about the different timeline types here: Overview | Docs | Twitter Developer Platform.

I hope that helps!
