Using large_image_summary, image not rendering

Why doesn’t the image get shared here? Thanks!

Your robots.txt file contains:

User-Agent: *
Disallow: /assets/
Disallow: /images/
Disallow: /system/
Disallow: /javascripts/
Disallow: /.git/

This prevents anything in the /system/ directory from being crawled, and this is stopping TwitterBot (our cards crawler) from fetching the image. Take a look at our Troubleshooting guide.

Hi,

I have the same issue. I can see the image from the web so I assume there is robot is not blocking it.

My url is: http://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/choose-your-event/events/london-blackheath-10k-2016-07-03-0930.html

Is there another reason that could be causing it?

#4

That site seems to work fine for me in the validator.

Hi Andy, it works in the validator, but we don’t see images on the timeline if the following link is used to share the page:

<a class="share-twitter" href="JavaScript:newPopup('http://www.twitter.com/share?url=https://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/choose-your-event/events/london-blackheath-5k-2016-07-03-1130.html&amp;text=Enter your local Race for Life 5k today and help us show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink.');"></a>

Does this link not pick up the twitter card?

For some reason, today the validator is not picking up the card and is showing an SSL handshake error - did you change anything about the server configuration or certificates?

When this is working again - You will not see a card inside the sharing popup, but you should see a “view summary” link in the corner of the resulting Tweet in the timeline which will open the card in Tweet detail view.

Hi I can see the image correctly in the validator:

,
but it still doesn’t create a tweet correctly?

#8

Working for me now… this is in the Tweet detail view. For the web, you need to click View Summary in the timeline to see the card. On iOS and Android, it will show up in the timeline.
