Update: The developer account application queue continues to grow

We’ve continued to receive a high volume of applications for developer accounts in the last week. Due to the stronger than expected demand, the waitlist queue continues to increase even as we approve and engage with a large number of applicants each day.

We are continuing efforts to improve the speed of our reviews, and are learning and making progress with this effort. We are prioritizing the quick approval of applications that are submitted with detailed use cases and that are clearly compliant with our developer policies. Submissions that are less clear or need further information will see a longer delay.

Our aim is to continue to build a platform where Twitter developers who comply with our policies can get started quickly and scale up, with little to no friction. We have introduced this application process to protect our platform and the people who use it while we work toward that goal, and determine how best to balance holding developers accountable to our policies with helping developers get started easily.

We hear your frustrations and appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to improve the speed of review and respond to your application.

Thank you for continuing to build on Twitter.
