Update home_timeline favorites count throughout the day

I am pulling the last 200 tweets from my home timeline throughout the day and saving to a postgres database. I’d like to go back through the saved tweets periodically throughout the day to update the favorites and retweet count to see which ones are gaining traction.

Is there any way to go back through the favorites count later in the day? Or should I wait until the end of the day to fetch all tweets from the previous day (is that even possible to go backwards in time)?

Each time you run a home_timeline or historical search request, you will receive the real-time favorites count. So yes, you are able to periodically update the favorites and retweets count of a given Tweet.

You can pull Tweets from earlier in the day; however, the favorites and retweets count value will be in real-time.
