Hi,
We’re offering a WordPress plugin, which automatically publishes their content on their behalf based on a user-controlled schedule. It can tweet as often as every 5 minutes.
At the moment, we ask users to create their own Twitter app in apps.twitter.com to avoid any issues in case someone decides to abuse Twitter’s terms and conditions and gets the app banned. But this is getting replaced with the developer access, so…
We can’t possibly ask every user to apply for a Twitter developer account to simply use our product. The only option is to create our own Twitter application and ask users to authorise it to write on their walls. Our concern is if we switch to a single application and ask over hundreds of users to start publishing content through it, it might eventually get blocked/banned for violating some rules.
On the other hand, there are similar apps such as Buffer App (https://buffer.com/) which works with thousands of users through a single Twitter application and they get away with it.
Are there any restrictions we should be aware of before modifying the way users use the plugin?
Thanks
