Unauthenticated REST API requests

#1

We’re trying to add an info pane displaying the latest twitter statuses by an artist to Clemetine (https://www.clementine-player.org/.) We will be using EchoNest to get artists’ twitter handles (http://developer.echonest.com/docs/v4/artist.html#twitter)

Looking at https://dev.twitter.com/rest/reference/get/statuses/user_timeline I see that there is a 300 requests / 15 min limit using app authentication. We would like not to require users to log into our twitter app for them to be able to see artist updates since that is the only kind of query we need to make. Besides, from a user perspective, it sounds invasive to have to sing into an app that doesn’t really require any of your personal data.

Would it be possible to make unauthenticated API calls? (perhaps with a per-IP limit?) or to increase the app-auth limit for our application?

Thanks a lot!
