When validating a webpage twitter card validating tool says that it is unable to render card preview, but no debug info seems to give a heads up on why?!?
URL affected: Web page
Troubleshooting steps:
Using the Cards validating tool - debug reports:
INFO: Page fetched successfully
INFO: 26 metatags were found
INFO: twitter:card = summary_large_image tag found
INFO: Card loaded successfully
Having checked robots.txt, the availability of the image ect., but is otherwise clueless on why the webpage isn’t working though We use the twitter api as well as open graph.
Any help is highly appreciated
TIA
-Kurt

I have the same error, it seems that the tool doesn’t work for a few weeks on valid cards that can be displayed on Twitter.

There is a call to
https://cards-dev.twitter.com/preview/html?authenticity_token=f9fc1a071c2ba92af31a137c0fe33793de8f0fe8&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.swr3.de%2Faktuell%2Fnachrichten%2Fgondershausen-huepfburg-kinder-100.html&platform=Swift-12&authenticity_token=f9fc1a071c2ba92af31a137c0fe33793de8f0fe8&authenticity_token=f9fc1a071c2ba92af31a137c0fe33793de8f0fe8&authenticity_token=f9fc1a071c2ba92af31a137c0fe33793de8f0fe8
that receives an http 500 server error.
This is not an answer to why the card can’t be rendered.
Getting the same error as well.

Have been getting the same “Unable to render Card preview” error message for the last three days. Any update on a fix?

No - seems like it is a general issue and that sharing a page with validated tags doesn’t work. So at the moment there is no official feedback from Twitter
I’m having the same issue.

Same here, “Unable to render Card preview” …The cards appear fine on Twitter but do not preview in the Validator even though the card loads “successfully.” I am seeing in the console/network tab of devtools:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()
Request URL: (https://)cards-dev(.)twitter(.)com/preview/html?authenticity_token=[REDACTED]&url=[REDACTED]&platform=Swift-12&authenticity_token=[REDACTED]&authenticity_token=[REDACTED]
Request Method: GET
Status Code: 403
Remote Address: 104.244.42.67:443
Referrer Policy: strict-origin-when-cross-origin
Had to wrap the protocol and the dots in the Request URL in parentheses because I “can’t include links in [my] posts.”

I’m having the same problem, so I tried validating a url that had successfully been validated and then shared, with the image, with no problem on July 3rd. Would not validate, saying “Unable to render Card preview”.
I’m glad to read above comments that seem to indicate the images may work to display on Twitter, but will not validate.
