Unable to create new TailoredAudiences

I am using the following call:

$ twurl --trace -H ads-api.twitter.com “/2/accounts/18ce53wctv2/tailored_audiences” | jq

and i receive a json list of all the audiences created by the account (manually and using another twitter account via Ads Manager UI).

If you meant something else by response please let me know what would be of help.

I see you’re trying to create an audience using the Ads API version 3, and you’re getting a list of the audiences using version 2. What’s the API response if you’re trying to create an audience using the version 2? Meaning, the same call from your first post, but with /2/ in the path instead of /3/.

What about if you try to create another type of list, instead of TWITTER_ID?..

I also tried ‘EMAIL’ amd ‘DEVICE_ID’. No success either, unfortunately.

Hi @BuxApi it’s possible your access is “read only” meaning only granted access to provide advertiser analytics and reporting functionality. If you can confirm that this is the case (should have been listed as part of the approval process) but want it to be campaign management you will either have to contact the person who handled your approval or re-apply for a different App ID. If you are sure it has write ability (and you can do things like post new line items or campaigns as well) then please post your App ID here.

Hi @JBabichJapan! I tried creating a new TailoredAudience with the following python call:

$ TailoredAudience.create(tw_account, ‘/Users/twitter_emails.csv’, ‘my test list’, TA_LIST_TYPES.EMAIL)

and it results in the permission error. I also tried creating a campaign from Twurl, however, I think I do not get the syntax right:

$ twurl -H ads-api.twitter.com -d “start_time=2018-07-10T00:00:00Z&funding_instrument_id=funding_istrument_id&name=My First Campaign&total_budget_amount_local_micro=1000000&daily_budget_amount_local_micro=1000000” /2/accounts/18ce53wctv2/campaigns

Could you please help me out so I can try and verify which kind of rights I have, as we are pretty sure we applied for write access.

@majoritasdev Actually I do not get a response because I think the syntax is not 100% correct, as it is a mashup of different things I found online. Does the command make sense to you?

Ok. So after @JBabichJapan’s response, it seems you only have read-only access. Please confirm this as John said: “should have been listed as part of the approval process”. I assume there must be an email in which you received confirmation for Ads API access, and I gather it should contain this piece of information too. If you don’t have that email or can’t find it, I assume that if posting the App ID here, John or someone from Twitter could check the kind of access you have. But please, try finding that email - I think your answer’s there.
