Unable to configure proxy url for twitter streaming api in nodejs

I am not able to run my simple nodejs service which hosts the twitter streaming api.

The service runs fine when i am in a public network, but when i am behind a corporate proxy it times out every single time. I have tried setting npm proxies and also the registry to https://twitter.com. Still there is no success.

What can be done run this service even behind a corporate proxy?

Maybe check if https://stream.twitter.com is allowed through - not just twitter.com?

should i add stream.twitter.com to the registry?

Not sure what you mean by registry. Hard to say without knowing all the details of how your connection is set up - maybe the best way is to get whoever manages your firewall / network to allow connections to twitter and avoid the problem entirely?
