Twitter Widget error and Weebly Blog

This is a follow up question. Why do I have to make my Twitter stream using the widget “public” on my Weebly blog? My blog is password protected and I only want those in my blog to be able to read my stream. Once I embed the Twitter Feed is it truly available for anyone to see or only those who sign into my blog?

The widgets work on public Twitter streams, and will not be able to pull in data from a private Twitter account.
