Twitter Web Intent Redirect

I’m currently developing a microsite and it uses a Twitter Web Intent so users can Tweet about the website. We’re in the process of QAing the website and a few users have noticed that when on a mobile device the native twitter app will be opened INSTEAD of a new tab in Safari. Is there any way to keep the user in Safari and disable the redirect? Is this related to a specific iOS version?

You may be referencing the Universal Links feature of iOS 9+ when the Twitter app is installed. The Twitter app registers itself for compose experience, bringing logged-in Twitter users into the environment where they are most likely to complete the action.
