Twitter Timeline widget not working on SP 2010 Site

From past two months, twitter timeline widget is coming blank on SP2010 site. We have seen another post confirming end of support for IE8.
Its not practical to change Meta tag to target IE9 or higher since sharepoint controls break after making changes.

Do we have any alternative widgets\solutions that can be leveraged for SharePoint?

You could probably build something yourself using the API to do this, but the web widgets we provide unfortunately no longer support the IE8 document mode that SP2010 seems to use by default. The workarounds required to continue to support outdated browsers and web standards are significant so we are unable to offer that support now.
