Twitter Summary Cards - are they cached?

Hi there,

Does anyone know if the Twitter Summary Card is cached?
And if it is how long is it cached for?

Hi @apoll_oh,

Twitter Cards are cached for about a week right now. One work around while testing is to tweet a link with additional cache-busting parameters attached to it, such as a timestamp like ?t=123456 – you wouldn’t want to do this once you’ve kind of finalized your cards implementation.

It appears that the preview tool now expires the cache, but the preview tool shows the old version even after you’ve changed the image.

Might want to look into that.

Hi I added required metatags to our website. We also got confirmation about it but the In our website when we share with tweet button the content is not replacing.

We have the same problem about Tweet cards caching.
The same URL links to an updated content, including Tweet Cards Metas, but tweets that refers to that URL do not reflect changes of the landing page… An the Card in the time line shows old content, even if we tested the URL in the preview tool…

I’v tried @episod trick who suggests to add get parameter following the URL… And it work.

But indeed, I guess there should be a tool somewhere, in, for instance, to refresh cached URL, for us not to have to add get parameters each time we tweet the same URLs with new meta content…
There is a similar issue in Facebook about sharing link in the status. Facebook provide somewhere a way to refresh cached content…

According to this thread

Twitter Cards are cached for about a week right now.

But according to

We cache files (including robots.txt and images) for 24 hours

So what is the right answer? Or there is different cache time for files and card data?

I’ve added all the right meta tags for large image summary and got approved 2 days a go. still not showing the card for my site
