Twitter Summary Card Validation returning error " Invalid Care Type" - Could this be due to password protected domain?

We are currently in the testing Phase of a Site; the Domain is Testing.thenameofourcampaign.com

It is password protected. Our Production URL (minus the Testing.) will also be password protected until launch.

2 Questions:

1. Could the password protection be what is causing the error “Invalid Card Type”?

2. Are there any special protocols we need to take into account when applying for Twitter Cards on a password protected site?

3. Is there a way to expedite the process?

1. Yes
2. Our crawler (Twitterbot) needs to access your site.
3. You need to permit this user-agent to go thru without entering a password, for the initial crawl/index. There is no way to use cards with a password protected site.
