There’s no way to specify that you’re just looking for videos or images, but you can use filter:links as part of your query and using that in tandem with include_entities=true you’ll have [node:7289] from which to understand which are images, videos, and so on.

Use this for your query for starters: “from:google since:2012-01-31 filter:links” but append an include_entities=true parameter to your query URL like so: “https://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=from%3Agoogle%20since%3A2012-01-31%20filter%3Alinks&include_entities=true”

This will give you search results with links. Then it’s up to you to determine which are interesting pieces of media to you. You can do this by examining the response JSON of the query and looking at the entities node. pic.twitter.com images will also have a media node. You’ll need to do the mapping of other image and video services to the links that represent them yourself.
