Twitter REST API support for new Tweet length limits

Does anyone know when support will be added to the “statuses/update” REST API call so that tweets no longer have to account for the additional bytes needed when uploading media with tweets. Or has this already been added? I was looking in the api docs and nothing is currently mentioned about it

Is https://dev.twitter.com/overview/api/upcoming-changes-to-tweets not accurate?

Note that at this time only the attachment change has shipped.

So from what I read this is still being planned but hasn’t been officially rolled out

reading this link about the statuses/update api doesn’t mention anything about the new parameters, which why I assume it’s not ready yet
