Twitter Player Cards - Fallback card types during approval process

We currently have metadata tags for summary_large_image cards for our public video pages but would like to add support for our embeddable video player by using player cards.

Ideally, we could continue to show the summary_large_image cards during the approval process. Is there a way to do this with metadata tags alone? If not, would placing the player metadata behind a feature toggle and only turning it on for a select few pages during the validation process be sufficient to get the entire domain validated for player cards?

@poulpaulsen, you only need to submit one player card per domain. So you could create a page with a player card that is not linked to any other part of your site. Then once that is approved, migrate your other pages to the player card.
