Twitter OAuth

Hello everyone,
I’m new to development field now im working on implementing twitter login in my website. while working on that i came through POST oauth/request_token which is used to request twitter api for OAuth token. I didn’t understand what parameters do i need to pass for this request and also i couldn’t understand exactly what callback url do i need to specify in oauth_callback parameter. can anyone help me out??

Callback URL is where after successfully logging in Twitter will redirect the user. This is so that your application can capture the oAuth token, and oAuth token secret for said user. A good illustration is on this page: https://dev.twitter.com/web/sign-in/implementing

Although I highly suggest you use a library for oAuth requests as it removes a lot of headaches.

Thanks for giving reply. But i’m getting this error “XMLHttpRequest cannot load https://api.twitter.com/oauth/request_token. No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. Origin ‘http://192.168.1.53’ is therefore not allowed access.” whenever i made request to twitter api. Here ‘http://192.168.1.53’ is my local url. can u please help me through this…

You can’t make the request with client side javascript. You’ll have to use a server.

But even I’m making the request from server side Still i’m getting the same error

Access-Control-Allow-Origin is a header used by servers to tell browsers if they are allowed to make HTTP requests to different domains. It should generally only happen for browser to server requests and not server to server requests.

Hello, I’m new to web development, could you (or someone) clarify something for me? When you say “You can’t make the request with client side javascript. You’ll have to use a server.”, is that a requirement stated in the documentation somewhere? Or is that a property of all API request scenarios?
