Twitter Feed Not Working

#1

Hi,

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong category…

Our Twitter feed has stopped after working fine, any ideas? (Code below)

  • RD Twitter Feed
  • @description Enables RD Twitter Feed plugin
    */
    if (plugins.twitterfeed.length > 0) {
    var i;
    for (i = 0; i < plugins.twitterfeed.length; i++) {
    var twitterfeedItem = plugins.twitterfeed[i];
    $(twitterfeedItem).RDTwitter({
    hideReplies: false,
    localTemplate: {
    avatar: “images/features/rd-twitter-post-avatar-48x48.jpg”
    },
    callback: function () {
    $window.trigger(“resize”);
    }
    });
    }
    }

(The below code is placed on our homepage)

p class=“text-uppercase text-spacing-60 text-bold text-center text-lg-left”>Twitter Feed

div class=“offset-top-20”>
div data-twitter-username=“racinginfo_” data-twitter-date-hours=" hours ago" data-twitter-date-minutes=" minutes ago" class=“twitter”>
div data-twitter-type=“tweet” class=“twitter-sm”>
div class=“twitter-date text-dark small”>

div data-tweet=“text” class=“twitter-text”>
div data-screen_name=“text” class=“twitter-name text-bold big”>

div data-twitter-type=“tweet” class=“twitter-sm”>
div class=“twitter-date text-dark small”>

div data-tweet=“text” class=“twitter-text”>
div data-screen_name=“text” class=“twitter-name text-bold big”>

Many thanks for your time!

Hello there! Sorry to hear it stopped working. To help us debug, could you tell us more about what API you are using to populate plugins.twitterfeed? It’ll be more helpful if you can show us a JSFiddle with the bare minimal HTML and JavaScript that demonstrates your problem.

Good afternoon Jo,

Please see the JsFiddle link below…

Please let me know if you need anymore information.

Kind Regards

Hi Racinginfo, that JsFiddle link doesn’t work for me. Looks like it’s missing the alphanumeric id for your fiddle in the URL. When I created a collaboration link, it looks like this: https://jsfiddle.net/6wks6abc/#&togetherjs=xRN96akT8V

Hi,

Apologies… does the below link work?

https://jsfiddle.net/user/Racinginfo/fiddles/

Kind Regards James

Hi James, that link works. It’s unclear to me where plugins comes from in the code snippet you have at https://jsfiddle.net/Racinginfo/5h61hwwu. What is the link to your website? Are you using a CMS and a plugin by any chance?

Hi Jo,

our website address is http://racinginfo.co

Kind Regards

Hi James, I noticed your backend call to http://racinginfo.co/bat/twitter_api/tweet.php?username=racinginfo_&list=&hashtag=&count=5&exclude_replies=false is failing with the following authentication error:

{errors: [{code: 32, message: "Could not authenticate you."}]}

That would explain why your custom rendering code would fail due to no data returned.

We won’t be able to help you in debugging your custom code, but have you tried the officially supported approach to embed a profile timeline? If your use case is to render the most recent 5 tweets from Twitter user racinginfo, you can try publish.twitter.com to get a code snippet. The docs at https://dev.twitter.com/web/embedded-timelines provides further instructions if you want to tweak the look and feel.

Here’s a screencap of what I’m seeing when I try to create the widget …
