I’m having the same problem, but it doesn’t look like it’s been discussed in over a week. Any fix?

When my own tags didn’t work, I copied the example tags for the NY Times article and changed the tags one by one to see where the problem lies.

I can change everything but the image. It appears that twitter:image has to be a link to an image on the NY Times site, as it will work with any of their images, but if it’s a link to an image on any of the dozen other sites I’ve tried, I get the same error message stated above.

Hi, just a general question.

Does twitter:url have to be the full URL of the webpage? I use my own redirects for short URLs, so if I use the long URL (on daffadillies.co.uk) in the twitter:url tag, will my twitter cards still appear when someone links to my site with my short URL (daffadilli.es)?

As others have mentioned, my cards were working fine but have recently stopped. This seems to be affecting a lot of sites at present.

Everything is fine using the preview tool (it was giving an error for a while yesterday) but no luck on Twitter itself.

I’m using the twitter: markup rather than OG and I see you mention that it could be an issue with the twitter markup being overlooked in favour of OG.

I think I’ll add code to get the OG markup generated as well to test but any more info would be appreciated.

I have now added some additional OG markup - the preview tool works fine but posting to a tweet is very hit and miss. I had one work but others not, then the one that worked stopped.

I had submitted another reply before that seems to have gone missing.

I wondered if it was the issue of the twitter: markup being ignored in favour of OG but still no luck. Preview is always fine.

I have done some further tests and out of seven attempts of the SAME URL only one instance generated the card. I’ve tried both with and without location, with and without OG info etc.

Hey Sylvain,

There is something very weird concerning the issue with my twitter card acceptance which I’ve raised few weeks back.
Indeed I’ve been accepted for all type of twitter cards and I’ve implemented a video one on my website : www.IrasWorld.com

The thing is, twitter doesn’t recognize it when I enter my url as is, but I’ve noticed today that when I use a url shortener like bit.ly (or else) it works fine. So there is definitely something weirdly wrong here.

Would you please mind looking into this ?

Okay, here’s a new update:

The last one that seemed to work for me properly IN TWITTER was: https://twitter.com/ColinWalker/status/253380245451853824

https://twitter.com/SocialPros/status/255715072373030913 doesn’t work on the Twitter page or the iOS app but works in TweetDeck.

You can tell which will work because it says “view summary” - it just says expand for those that don’t.

That cards work in TweetDeck shows that the mechanism is intact and it’s Twitter that is broken.

Since getting approved for twitter cards, it looks like sometimes it works and most times it doesn’t. Here is an example of one that did not work when I tweeted it, however does work correctly in the tester preview tool.

My meta tags work in the preview tool except when I include this image in either of the following ways:

in which case the preview tool gives one of the following erros:
Our fetcher fails to fetch image at URL http://i.ytimg.com/vi/kfQTQINVYOg/0.jpg.

Fetcher response code: REQUEST_QUEUE_FULL.

HTTP response code: 0.
or
Looks like something is technically wrong.

Please try again in a few minutes.
Images from other domains work fine.  Why does this happen?

Hey Sylvain,

We recently got our domain Sched.org approved two days ago:
“We’ve activated Summary and Photo cards for sched.org.”

I believe it should have been approved with wildcards (*.sched.org) since sched.org itself doesn’t even have twitter tags present. But I can’t seem to get it to work on Twitter.com. We provide schedules for thousands of festivals/conferences and here are two examples of URLs I’ve verified with the Preview tool:

Our domain was approved about two week ago (kefaloniatoday.com) but none of our twits has shown its card although the debugging tool reads all the articles perfectly.

I have eliminated the 301 redirect that we had at first (from kefaloniatoday.com to www.kefaloniatoday.com) which didn’t make a change. I have also tried to post links from kefaloniatoday.com instead of www.kefaloniatoday.com which also didn’t make a change.

My last attempt was to ask once more for the *.kefaloniatoday.com to be included but it has been 1 week and it hasn’t been approved - I also don’t know if the domain is the problem.

I have to outline that every time a twit is posted I have confirmed from our server logs that within seconds the Twitterbot is accessing the article posted normally. Still… no cards appear…

Hi we just got our Twitter Cards approved but the wrong Twitter Card was approved. We applied for Media and Summary and got Summary and Photo approved. Can this be fixed or will we need to resubmit?
