How does the moderation work here? I asked a legitimate question more than 4 hours ago and it is nowhere to be seen.

Hmm, that’s interesting.

OK, yesterday our Twitter Cards application got approved. We should have Photo and Summary cards working for wordofhouse.com. The preview tool recognizes photos with no problem. However, when I tweet the Twitter card is not activated - there is no “View photo” link (see https://en.twitter.com/ReshNesh/status/251327455552491521).

Do you know where the problem could be? Thanks a lot.

Hi Sylvain,

I want to suggest to use the good old meta-tag “description” as a fallback for twitter:description / og:description.
In most cases the meta name=“description” is already there. So an extra entry for description would be one too much

Trying for the third time now. When I click Save I get a message saying that my comment will be published after it is approved but it never shows up.

Our Twitter cards application was approved 2 days ago (wordofhouse.com). We should have Summary and Photo cards activated. When I tweet to see if photo cards work I just get the link in the tweet message but no “View photo” link. I tried the preview tool and it recognized my photo fine. Does anyone know where the problem could be? Thanks

It seems that an https media URL, or one that redirects to https, results in a 400 error. Is https not supported?

http://ameasure.com/chart/121 works in the preview tool, but https://ameasure.com/chart/121 results in “Internal Error. Most likely an fetcher error.” on the tool and a 400 error on the server. (s/an/a/ in any case.)

Also, the image on a photo card seems to be fetched twice. Will this always happen, or is it just happening in the preview tool? Since Twitter stores the image locally I was planning to delete it after it has been fetched. Is that an inappropriate strategy?

Thanks for any help.

I’ve the same problem…
Check me when you have a solution !
Thx

Is it just an issue with the preview tool that images that are returned via a 301 Redirect can’t be displayed?

The preview tool is to male sure it works technically. We still need to whitelist your domain for production, it can take up to a few weeks, depending on the incoming flow of requests (and I can tell you it’s pretty high right now). Thanks for your patience!

It should work now. The problem was that you submitted the domain wordofhouse.com and not www.wordofhouse.com, these are actually two different domains and that’s why it did not work. I added www to your entry and just checked your previous tweet, I see the image attached.

That’s a great suggestion, thanks.

We are currently investigating issues with https URLs.

I would advise against deleting the image, if a user follows the link to your site, not having the image there might be confusing.

Re https: thanks.

Re images: I understand your point, but in this case the images are solely for the benefit of twitter cards. There are no other links to them. You don’t provide links to the images, do you?

I’ll keep the images for now, but it would be nice to get clarification on how many times you access them.

Thanks again

I have the same problem

I had submitted my url sometime back, I recd an email stating my application was incomplete and to test it using your online tool,I tried and added ‘http://www.giftsocial.in/Product/elegantly-carved-ganesh-’ to receive message that: Our fetcher fails to fetch image at URL http://www.giftsocial.in/Content/Images/AapnoRajasthan/HomeDecoratives/m_WUD1103.jpg.
HTTP response code: 406.
The image is coming up fine on browser.
Then I checked on fiddler and found the following request and response headers:
Request
GET http://www.giftsocial.in/Content/Images/AapnoRajasthan/HomeDecoratives/m_WUD1103.jpg HTTP/1.1
Accept: text/html, application/xhtml+xml, /
Accept-Language: en-IN

Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate
Connection: Keep-Alive
Host: www.giftsocial.in

Response
HTTP/1.1 200 OK

I would appreciate if someone could help…

Update:

Now it does seem that the root is also recognized - great! However, it also seems as if it doesn’t work all the time - sometimes a summary is not shown for a page for no apparent reason.

Also, the encoding seems to work sometimes, and sometimes not, for the Danish letters æ, ø, and å. Compare https://twitter.com/Leoparddrengen/status/252174478430318592 (unicode gone bad) to https://twitter.com/Leoparddrengen/status/252180710457241601 (unicode with no problems).

The encoding on the pages are the same.

If you have any advice on what to do for consistent results, it would be much appreciated

I got an email from Twitter Cards Support stating that my application was incomplete and needs to be resubmitted. I used the preview tool to look at my Twitter Card markup, and I’m unable to tell what is missing. The page reports no errors that I can see.

The URL is http://tonyahn.com Can anyone tell me what I’m missing? Thanks!

Hello I am trying to get my code working but I keep getting this :

Fetcher response code: OK
MISSING_TAG: twitter:description

on my preview card and can’t figure out what to do to fix the issue. Thanks so much in advance.

I have cards working on my site now. Very nice, thanks

However, I originally couldn’t understand why the user @robin was being shown under the detail instead of me - @Rob_in.

I have since realised that this is because I made a typo on the card enrolment form by putting @robin where I should have put @Rob_in. How can one edit this info for their site? I have re-submitted the form with correct info but didn’t see this change.

Hi, thanks a lot for making it work.

Why can’t we get our images to show in the recent images when we are using twitter cards? Instagram images show but ours don’t
