The Twitter Cards has been approved‏, but it does not work, there’s something else I should do?, thanks. @froginthevalley

Twitter Cards have been approved, but it doesn’t work. The preview tool is working and it correctly displays the card, but I don’t see the card when using the URL in an actual tweet.

Trying with http://cmp.ly/E/mdl

What should I be trying to get this to work? @froginthevalley

We have a same problem with @mikedelorenzo Cards have been approved. The preview tool is working and it correctly displays the card, but I don’t see the card when using the URL in an actual tweet.

@froginthevalley can you please help?

Thanks.

Sylvain,

I get a “Could not fetch proxied image” (HTTP 406 Error on on weblogs) when I test the following using the Twitter Card Preview Tool:

It does work properly when I omit the twitter:image tag. We are running IIS 7.5

Who is gonna help us? What kind of support is this? Heh.

Here’s the link:

Hi Sylvain,

There is a problem with “french” accent in twitter card content (summary), on my site everything is utf-8. In my TimeLine (https://twitter.com/NicolasFruit), with firefox, and I get:
“Le 13 octobre dernier les Drupalistas de la Belle province se réunissaient pour le 5ème DrupalCamp Montréal …”

Strange, because on

An image worth a thousand words: http://nicolasfruit.com/sites/nico/files/images/Pb-Accent-Twitter-Card.png

UPDATE: I just checked with Chrome … and the accents are OK … And then I re-checked with FireFox (just hit refresh) … and … everything is OK too … random bug … not fun to reproduce ;-(

UPDATE2: When I open a fresh browser, visit https://twitter.com/NicolasFruit , and click “Voir le résumé” on this tweet, then I’ve got the Problem. Then if I hit refresh on the browser, and “Voir le résumé” … then everything is OK …

I think the problem is that we forgot to add the “www” before the link. I hope you could fix it. Thanks

Still no change. Still no approval on ‘www’. Dead in the water :frowning:

How often does Twitter re-crawl a domain’s robots.txt file? I updated a domain to reflect that it’s OK to crawl the directory where an image is housed. The robots.txt file has updated on the live site. But the cards tester tool still says robots.txt is disallowing crawling of the image. Thinking that perhaps Twitter might only reindex the robots file on a less frequent time frame?

Ok everything is working fine for my site Cream Bmp .com , BUT i have ‘photo’ in my code, but sometimes it shows as a summary and sometimes it shows as a photo. I just want it to show as photo how do I make sure that is what happens with my links on twitter.

Thanks

1 week and still didn’t got the second approval. Is anyone from twitter even reading this?

@froginthevalley
We have the same problem with the robots.txt cashed by the Twitter server like @gabetrav
Here is our latest robots.txt file where the thumbnails are hosted:
http://cloud.mymovingreviews.com/robots.txt

Here is one of the articles that are mapped with Twitter Cards to test in the tester:

Also is there a way to clear the cashed version of the robots file cashed by Twitter?

Are we doing anything wrong.

Hello, I’ve just been approved for the card, but I forgot to add www in font of my domain name (shadikabbesh.net), and card doesn’t seem to show up.

Any chance you could change my shadikabbesh.net domain to *.shadikabbesh.net?

Is there a way to dynamically pull post content (like title, image, etc.)? New to the developing scene and I thought using php from within wordpress might work but alas, it doesn’t. Thanks for any help. (Read the documentation for cards by the way.)

Is there any way Twitter Cards will work with inline images? I recently installed mod_pagespeed and I’m running some experiments with Analytics, and currently can’t switch back to plain jpg files. Any plans for inline images? Thank you.

I’ve wondered this too… I’ve found (tho cant categorically confirm) that using the short url in the twitter:url meta tag does seem to work a bit better.

Hi,

Have today received the email telling us that our Twitter Cards have been approved. However, after posting our latest tweet with one of our links included, the Cards feature doesn’t appear on our tweet. This has been tested on the markup tool and all works perfectly on there.

Could you help us with this?

Many Thanks.

We have been approved and it works fine in the preview, but for some reason the image does not appear in the live feed.
For example for the following URL: http://www.nycgovparks.org/events/2012/11/17/bird-walks
There is an image in the preview, there is no image in the live version:

Is it possible within card descriptions to use basic HTML markup as in strong,em,br? Would be great to have some basic formatting over the description to highlight certain words.
