We have a customer where we have posted article links to Twitter as Twitter Cards without any issue.

To note, the last successful date of a Twitter Card post was 4/2/22. However, the issue appears to have also cropped up on 3/31/22 (see: https://twitter.com/ZDNet/status/1509606550280810508), and going into 4/1/22 (see: https://twitter.com/ZDNet/status/1509931165234438183, with the issue appearing to have resolved later that day before cropping up again at 8:15 AM PT on 4/2 (see: https://twitter.com/ZDNet/status/1510274642593918984).

We are not experiencing this issue with other customers, and attempting to reproduce this issue on our own Twitter pages and on the Twitter Card Validator, with the same linkes, where we are able to render Twitter Cards successfully, has not proven fruitful.

Can someone assist with troubleshooting this issue?

After some investigation, we have narrowed down the likely cause of the post not unfurling into a Twitter Card as due to having a specific query parameter → ftag. Why would having this query parameter cause the post to not show as a Twitter Card?
