Once your domain has been approved, anything with that domain can be used as a twitter card. So if you got approved for marketingapocalypse.com you can use twitter cards for marketingapocalypse.com/example and marketingapocalypse.com/hey-check-me-out.html!
Just checked, you had applied for arrtitude360.com and not http://www.arttitude360.com technically these are not the same. Fixed it for you, works now.
You should be good now, check your inbox.
I’m pretty sure we submitted with www.hd-trailers.net as that was what was included in our test url.
But I’ve tried both, with or without the www and the Twitter Card still doesn’t show up: https://twitter.com/hdtrailers/status/279398798516686848
The preview tool shows both www and non-www working.
I think I have hit a similar issue with hd-trailers.net. Can you take a look at it for me? Thanks!
Followed all the the steps above to get approved for photo cards from http://www.elevatorview.com and the photo cards worked fine until a few days ago. I just checked http://www.elevatorview.com/2012/12/10/broadway-1021am/ in the preview tool and got this error:
Fetcher internal error when pre-fetching image at http://www.elevatorview.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/20121106-195158.jpg
Thoughts? Stewart
I think it is probably because the image you are trying to load is 2592 × 3872 which is gigantic! I would make a smaller version of the photo for use with twitter cards and give that a try.
AV SQUID (my startup) was approved and the preview tool works. The Twitter Cards documentat at https://dev.twitter.com/docs/cards indicate to use “<meta name=” tags. However, these are not valid markup because the “<meta name” tags are not registered with the WHATWG wiki (http://www.whatwg.org/).
The correct markup that seems to actually work uses “<meta property=”, which is what Facebook’s OpenGraph uses. I think the Twitter Cards documentation needs to be updated to show “<meta property” tags in the instructions rather than “<meta name=” tags.
Hey @froginthevalley, I have a question about what you are using to crawl the data on sites. My website counts every user that visits that video page and shows that as a count of the total views that the video has. However as soon as you post to twitter, twitter accesses the page about 7 times it looks like which adds 7 views to the video even thought they are not real views. Do you know a way I could tell if it is a twitter robot that is viewing the page rather than just a user clicking the link from twitter?

Hello Sylvain,

Thanks!
Twitter cards seemed to have stopped working for me - when I try to use the preview tool with the url, it says “Failed to find any meta tag from the page markup” however, if I copy/paste the markup directly from ‘view source’ it is able to preview fine.
Here’s an example url: http://blog.mycosmeticbag.com/photo-looks/makeup-and-beauty/fotd-kiss-dont-tell
Hi,
Our service ‘http’ scheme url ‘http://movie.oshiraseapp.jp/movies/1’ has no error on your preview sites.
But, We changed from ‘http’ to https’ url scheme (https://movie.oshiraseapp.jp/movies/1) which have same contents, then your preview sites dump errors.
‘Fetcher internal error when fetching page at https://movie.oshiraseapp.jp/movies/1’
Our correct url scheme is ‘https’ …! So, Please check your preview site fetcher internal errors.
If you use https then you have to make sure all of your data that you are providing in the meta tags use https. I see the image meta tag is using http instead of https. Your code:
Thank you for your help!
We fixed og:image url scheme. But, the preview page show same errors.
hmm…
Thank you Stuart. I agree, the url had a CASING problem. Now it is:
NOTE: “&sid=” is now all SMALL CASE and the video plays. But, I still cannot see the video on my twitter timeline. Appreciate your input and advice, kindly let me know on this.
Bonjour,
Merci
– English version Hi, I’ve got a problem with the player twitter card. Does the youtube embed player include is not allowed ? Here a tweet example : https://twitter.com/HelloProject_eu/status/278413983709552640 The url is valid using the preview tool: http://url.hello-project.eu/890 An idea ? Thank you
Oh! Didn’t notice that. Thank you, it works now!
I tweeted the link and the summary card worked with no problem. Also the tweet you provided has a summary card as well, it seems to be working!
When I went to the link you provided above https://www.sapvirtualevents.com/mediaplayer/socialmediaplayer.swf?eventname=teched&sid=3430&piwikid=4&id=1234 the video played which is good however the https was broken, make sure all of the links you include on that page are https or else it will break the https on that page. Twitter will not load a video player card unless the iframe is using an unbroken https connection.
