Twitter Cards: I have a problem, help me!

Our Twitter photo cards were approved and working for *.fathermag.com, but today they have stopped working and furthermore the cards have now disappeared from the past tweets.

I need to send the request twice with www and without, or sending the domain (without www) is enough?

I am currently using the twitter player card and everything works on twitter.com but on the mobile iOS app, I specify the .mp4 video file with the meta tag

However the meta tag twitter:player overrides this for some reason so in the twitter app when the video is clicked it goes to the flash player instead of loading the .mp4 file. Here if my full code and an example tweet.

The twitter summary card were approved for http://getbestdecision.com/v16/web/bestdecision/home/samples. I tried it about a month ago and it worked. But today it stopped working and furthermore the cards have now disappeared from the past tweets. It works in preview tool.

However, on twitter.com timeline, video does not play.
Please advice on this to finish integration. Much appreciated!

Question on the player card image. Are we supposed to show the thumbnail image of the video content itself, or an image of the actual player (with the thumbnail showing within the player)? Basically, do we show a thumbnail image or an image of a fake player?

Hey, I’ve been trying out the testing tool with the following tags:

It doesn’t create a preview card, but if I add an alt code character to the title, like ALT+255 for a space, then the preview works. (Also on my screen the preview looks formatted weird, even though it does pull the info). Also putting in a way longer descriptions seems to fix the problem.

Anyways, what I’m wondering is, is this ALT code problem? Or the fact that the preview is not showing up without it, something on my end that I should worry about before applying for approval?
Or should I apply for approval anyways? :S

It seems to be working now, and actually rendering the card on the same page. Before it would open up a new tab even though it was an iframe!

I think you missed the real issue, which is that Twitter should take the first og:image tag, not the last one. This behaviour is specified by the standard:
“The first tag (from top to bottom) is given preference during conflicts.”

twitter: tags may override this, but if they are not present, it should follow the spec.

In our case, we have a news site where the first image is the one designed to go with a teaser. We want it to appear on the card, but we also want to provide the other images for other open graph apps (we can’t just reverse the order, else it’ll break those apps). For now, we can add a twitter:image, but we’d like to avoid duplication.

However, it seems like instead of pulling the first image as the thumbnail. it is pulling the… last? a middle image?

Can you let me know how you pick which image? I guess we assumed it would be the first image…
