Hi

I’ve implemented the card metadata for products in my site, however when putting URLs into the preview tool it returns with an error message:

“Failed to fetch the page”

The site is definitely up, and fast, and I can open the pages no problem in any browser. Really not sure what the problem could be, any ideas?

Example URL:

It is doing the same thing for any URL at the site.

I’m having trouble validating product cards with certain image URLs. Our cdn serves product images in a variety of sizes. The URLs are in the form http://img.ebyrcdn.net/444011-409379-290.jpg where 444011 is the image ID, 409379 is the product ID and 290 is the size (maximum of height and width is 290px).

For some reason, the validator is fine with these 290px or our 800px images, but when I try any of our other sizes (80, 150, or 200) all of which are publicly accessible, it says “Invalid image. This image cannot be fetched”. Unfortunately the images that do work are too large and end up being cropped on the card.

We have checked our server logs and seen requests for the smaller images coming from Twitter, all of which have been returned successfully.

Any idea why the validator doesn’t like certain images?

My website recently got approval for twitter cards. in the validator tool it says *.byteshaman.us is approved which is very good and well. The error I am experiencing is when i tweet to a card, for instance : http://byteshaman.us/cards/test.php

It does show up in the validator, but will not show up in my actual tweets. can u please help me with this?

I realised almost as soon as I posted this that I was being very stupid not even checking the docs for a minimum image size, turns out the need to be at least 280px wide and 150px tall! I’ll have to use the twitter:image:width and twitter:image:height tags to sort out the aspect ratio and prevent cropping.

Just a suggestion though, it might be worth putting these image size requirements in a more prominent position - I found them on the docs page for Photo cards but there’s no mention of them on the Product cards page which isn’t ideal since these also need images!

I am trying to validate our URL for the new app card but it keeps saying “The Validator does not yet support App Card.” How are we supposed to submit these URL’s for approval?

I can’t get the Card Validator to work at all.
All that I see is a text input “Enter URL to preview”, but there isn’t a submit button.
How is this thing supposed to work?

Summary card says - Images smaller than 60x60px will not be shown.
So, who knows what the minimum image size is for product cards?

Hey Jason, so what does that mean for me exactly? Are my url’s ok? If so, how do I get them through the validator to the actual application?

If they’re not, how can I get feedback to fix the problem? The error is not specific.
