Twitter can make it whatever they want it to be, they choose <meta name= and that is what their parser accepts. They could make it <meta twitter= if they really wanted to.

It also depends on what language they are using to get the info, for instance php can crawl a page for <meta name= and does not work for <meta property=

I am not exactly sure what the issue it, however the next thing I would try is making a test page that is just a blank html page with the meta tags in the head section. It is possible you are blocking the twitter bot somehow.

I would try those meta tags on a blank sample html page and see if the meta tags are found to make sure your website is not blocking twitter bots or something. Debug from there.

@StuartYamartino Thanks! You were right - my code was pulling the URL for the full size image. Fixed, and cards are working again!

Hi Sylvain,

I think i’ve implemented the twittercards summary tags in the way it should. But when i go to the preview i keep getting the message something is wrong try again later… Did i do something wrong or is it my wordpress theme? Or is there a temporary problem with the preview tool? Here the url of my site i was trying to preview:

Howdy! I submitted a request for our district (@MidlothianISD) yesterday and have been curious… My webpage preview gives me an error of “Invalid Url: og:url; value=www.midlothian-isd.net” but the META preview shows up correctly. Just wondering if I missed something.

Also, in our tweets I use a custom URL shortener (misd.sc) for linking. Will cards show if I use the shortener or do links need to be what I registered with?

Hi Sylvain,

I’m having trouble with Photo Cards on my website http://riffed.it/ which has been approved for Cards.

If I post with a url from my website in the body of a tweet from the twitter website it works great: https://twitter.com/piltdownman7/status/281492604087058432

However, if I use the twitter API and tweet using “POST statuses/update” it comes out as a ‘summary’ and there is no image : https://twitter.com/piltdownman7/status/281495046036025344

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stuart. Thanks once again that was valuable. Now the calls within swf are all HTTPS and it comes up perfectly on the preview tool. However, it still hasn’t played come up on the timeline yet. Please throw some light!

I found the issue in the twitter documentation, in the name=“twitter:player:stream:content_type” meta info, the part that says mpa.40.2 should be mp4a.40.2 with the 4 in between the P and the A. Worked like a charm after that!

I’m from Blux Touch who developed the camera app “Blux Camera”. Recently we submitted the request of using one of your features “Twitter Cards”, we know that normally it’ll take 5 to 10 working days to get approved. We submitted the request on Dec. 15 and still haven’t got response.

We’d like to know what else we need to provide to get approved (Here is our test link: http://sandbox-share.instwall.com/photo_cards.php)
If we’ve got approval from Twitter to have “Twitter Cards” feature in the app we created, and we’d like to have this feature also be available in another app which is created under the same account as the one having got approval, where the only difference between these two is the test URL. Are we required to apply for “Twitter Cards” again or we’ll get approved automatically.
We’re looking forward to your reply.

Your image seems to be too small, you need a larger image and it should work.

Thanks Stuart for your reply. I don’t really understand… I’ve implemented the twittercards Summary on another blog already. The images there are 730 x 548 pixels, and it’s working. The images on my site are 750 x 463 pixels (so just a slight difference) and it’s not working. What are the minimum image requirements in pixels?
