Twitter Cards are not working for the last 48 hours

Hello all,

My twitter card implementation for Untappd (http://untappd.com) is not being added to Twitter. We have not problems for the last 8 months, but noticed this two days ago.

Here are some test links:

Meta:

<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary">
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@untappd">
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Johnny Appleseed (Level 2)">
<meta name="twitter:description" content="Dave earned a Johnny Appleseed (Level 2) badge on Untappd!">
<meta name="twitter:image:src" content="https://untappd.s3.amazonaws.com/badges/bdg_appleseed_lg.jpg">
<meta name="twitter:domain" content="untappd.com">
<meta name="twitter:app:name:iphone" content="Untappd">
<meta name="twitter:app:name:android" content="Untappd">
<meta name="twitter:app:id:iphone" content="id449141888">
<meta name="twitter:app:id:googleplay" content="com.untappdllc.app">

URL:

<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary">
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@untappd">
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Wernesgrüner Pils Legende by Bitburger Braugruppe">
<meta name="twitter:description" content="itslunchtimeca is drinking a Wernesgrüner Pils Legende by Bitburger Braugruppe at Lumina on Untappd.">

<meta name="twitter:domain" content="untappd.com">
<meta name="twitter:app:name:iphone" content="Untappd">
<meta name="twitter:app:name:android" content="Untappd">
 <meta name="twitter:app:id:iphone" content="id449141888">
<meta name="twitter:app:id:googleplay" content="com.untappdllc.app">

The validator appears to be broken and coming back as “invalid card type” for any of these images.

Any suggestions?

Greg

Dump - any idea?

Sorry for the delay.

I’m seeing it work in the validator and when I tweet. (Note that the app cards will only show on mobile.)

I’ve seen some app-card related weirdness that the engineering team has looked at, but generally has been working.

Can you try again, and if it doesn’t work, let me know what you see?

Thanks!

Ryan

This is most likely related to our fetcher having a case of hiccups (too many sour beers maybe)?

More seriously, I just tested it myself and it worked fine, do you see this quite often?

A quick check with https://twitter.com/search?q=untappd.com seems to show that it works “most of the times”, that’s way below the 99.999% success rate we are striving for… worth an investigation for sure, I will work with @rchoi and the eng team to dig into this one.

Awesome - thanks guys!
