Twitter card issue

I have a new website that has rebranded https://genderbuzz.com/

Twitter cards are updated for https://genderbuzz.com/ and https://www.genderbuzz.com/ fine. However if someone inputs genderbuzz.com alone. An old card turns up using the old images, however this should have been removed from the old site. How can I remove/refresh or update this? I have given it 3 months thinking it would be recrawled naturally.

I’ve just validated this and posted Tweets with and without the https prefix - they seem identical, and to use the image I’ve seen in the metadata. Did you try running the updated site through the validator? Ordinarily, this should not have been cached for as long as 3 months, so I’m not sure what has happened.

This is the incorrect images and doesn’t use http or https, just the plain genderbuzz.com

I ran https://genderbuzz.com/ and https://www.genderbuzz.com/ through the validator but not able to do that with genderbuzz.com as it says it is not a valid URL

Ah, that would be true. Checking the Tweet you mentioned.

Looks like without the protocol, the Tweet has normalised to http:, so I revalidated that and it looks good. I’ve just tried posting the URL again and it seems to work for me - at the moment I’m not sure what that existing Tweet of yours isn’t refreshing the card displayed, but I suspect that is more likely to be a caching issue.

Thank you. I have deleted that tweet and retried (cleared my cache incase that makes a difference) but it still seems to be that old card without the protocol. Is there anything we can do on the site to get that card redirected?

Strange - seems to work ok on my other Twitter account but not the Graphic Foodie one which displays the old card.

That is really strange! I didn’t think there would be anything linked to an account that would affect behaviour of cards like this. I’ll have to ask around a bit, as this is beyond my knowledge of the internals of the system.
