Twitter Card Images worked then stopped working for summary cards

Description of issue:
I had twitter summary cards working but then all of the sudden they stopped.

Troubleshooting steps attempted [note that we will not prioritise posts unless there is evidence of following the troubleshooting guides]:

I’ve checked my robots.txt externally and Twitter is allowed.
On the card validator I get

INFO:  Page fetched successfully
INFO:  24 metatags were found
INFO:  twitter:card = summary tag found
INFO:  Card loaded successfully

But no image is loaded.
I’ve manually checked the twitter:image tag

The Image is 340x340
But it still won’t load

This is odd, when I include the full url of the tweet in here the correct image is displayed as it is included from my site.

I figured out my own issue.
While google chrome and other browsers allow for a double slash // in the path of the image, the twitterbot does not like it, but doesn’t throw a warning or error.
This would be helpful for the future.
