Description of the issue: On certain pages of my website, images aren’t rendered in preview cards.
URL affected (must be public):
https://agefi.com/actualites/entreprises/les-baskets-on-voient-leur-benefice-croitre-au-deuxieme-partiel
Troubleshooting steps attempted [note that we will not prioritise posts unless there is evidence of following the troubleshooting guides] :
I read the pinned article, associated resources and took every possible troubleshooting step:
- All the required tags are available in the HEAD section of the page
- The web server isn’t blocking Twitterbot, neither is robots.txt
- Executing
curl -v -A Twitterbot <url> shows the right tags, the server does return a 200 response code as well as a valid content-type header and there is no access restriction for Twitterbot/1.0 on my website or the domain where images are hosted
- I’m not using any plugins
- I’m using a supported card type: summary_large_image
- The picture doesn’t have an aspect ratio of 2:1 but is way less than 5mb. It has an absolute full URL that includes the HTTP protocol but is hosted on a different server.
- The validator doesn’t show any error or warning
Overall, images always end up being rendered after attempting to post again later. Sometimes, one day or a few hours seems to be enough, some other times, it can take up to a few days. However, in this case, waiting for an attempt to succeed isn’t a viable solution. The tweets are related to news so they lose a lot of value if they can’t be posted as soon as the article page is made available on the website.
Thank you.

As the original URL no longer is problematic, I’m posting another link, while it is still affected by the issue:
It’s interesting to note that the preview seems to have worked here. However that’s not the case for the actual tweet:
Also noticed the following elements were not set as they should have been:
-
twitter:image:src was used as a meta tag name attribute. I replaced it with twitter:image instead but it doesn’t seem to make a difference
- the image file extension is .jpeg instead of jpg
Does anyone know if any of this could have an impact or have an idea on what could be the root issue ?
