Twitter card doesn't show up in preview

#1

Hi,

i did a round of check in twitter cards preview while implementing and found a weird issue. This is the 1st set of meta tags which i tested and no twitter cards were displayed:

<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary">
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@anil_n">
<meta name="twitter:url" content="http://something.test.com/">
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Anil">
<meta name="twitter:description" content="Test123">

But when i changed the meta tags to the below set, twitter cards were displayed.

<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary">
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@anil_n">
<meta name="twitter:url" content="http://something.test.com/t=123456789012345678901234567891234567890123456789012345678901234">
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Test">

Seems like it is expecting a long URL as well as a long description and also when i tested for image i got the following error:

Failed to get proxied image URL.

Kindly look into the issue and let me know as soon as possible.

Do i need to get approval before checking in preview?

#3

I have the same problem, Any solution?

#4

Its almost 3 days, but no response from twitter. what are these guys doing.?

#5

same problem

After quite a while trying to get the “card preview” page to work, I found that it won’t render the card preview unless the twitter:title value contains a “’” character. Note that this is not the apostrophe(’) or the backtick (`) character. It’s a “right single quotation mark”, unicode #8217.

#7

This is strange. I’m able to get the card to display only if my description contains 110 chars or more.

What’s even stranger is that the method from @reywood works.

#8

It seems to work if I put an alt code in the title. so I tried Alt+255 for a space character and it previews. Otherwise it doesn’t preview… I really want to apply for approval, cause I feel like on my end its working, and that this is something with card debug tool! :frowning: But I don’t want to apply and get rejected because of something like this.

I had made all possible for readers of the questions supply fresh
information for twitter. At any a case I had used automatically and
any was writing my are the articles become possession of customers.

#10

I can’t get my card to work… My domain is approved according to the card validator…

#11

#12

This is my code, it,s doesn,t work when i post a tweet

#13

My cards won’t display either.

We have the same issue with twitter cards for example: the url http://www.papershare.com/paper/optimizing-web-infrastructure-on-intel-architecture validates; however, does not show as a twitter card on twitter.

#15

This is ridiculous, is been unsolved for a really long time

#16

Same problem here. This is really troublesome. @Twitter, please update docs or fix validator.

I Have a similar Issue, If I Manually Copy / Paste a URL from my store to Twitter and tweet it, Picture and card is displayed - However if i click “tweet this” using the social sharing buttons I have under my products, directly from my website the Twitter card doesn’t seem to work - Any Ideas what I need to do? I am complete novice too with HTML. … Thanks
