Twitter Card Does Not Validate Despite Correct Meta Tags

#1

Hello,

I am trying to implement Twitter Cards on my site however the validation tool keeps coming back that the og: description required meta tag is missing despite the following being in my header:

<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary">
<meta name="twitter:domain" content="Sutherland Careers">
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@SGS_Careers">
<meta name="twitter:creator" content="@SGS_Careers">
<meta name="twitter:description" content="Welcome to the Sutherland Global Services Career Center, the industry leading technology and analytic's enabled BPO enterprise.">
<meta name="og:title" content="Sutherland Careers">
<meta name="twitter:url" content="http://sutherland-careers.com/">

Thank you,

Could you provide the URL you are testing with?

Hello,

It finally let me get approved however I still get the message on the analytic page that I do not have access and it has been over 24 hours.

#4

I am having the same problem with http://renegadestaterecords.com

#5

I have a similar problem adding a website to analytics using @StripeReporter.

#6

Can you provide a link to the page you are trying to add cards to so that we can help you?

#7

getting error of validating my oage as well http://www.babawalexy9ja.com

#8

I cannot find any Cards markup on your page.

#9

I do not see cards meta tags on this page as well. Please check out our Twitter Cards documentation and check out what meta tags you will need to add to your site for the type of card you’d prefer. Should you need any help, please feel free to reply here.

I have the same problem. Meta tags are present. (http://www.mintyourfortune.com)

Here is the snippet

<!-- JM Twitter Cards by Julien Maury 5.4.2 -->
<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary">
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@www.mintyourfortune.com">
<meta name="twitter:creator" content="@ansu2009">
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Mint Your Fortune">
<meta name="twitter:description" content="Welcome to Mint Your Fortune - Harmony, Inner Balance, Happiness">
<meta name="twitter:image:src" content="https://g.twimg.com/Twitter_logo_blue.png">
<!-- /JM Twitter Cards 5.4.2 -->

Error Message:
INFO: Page fetched successfully
WARN: No metatags found

What could the problem be?

Suren

For some reason your server returns an HTTP 500 internal error when our validator tries to access it. Not sure why that would be the case.

I’m getting same problem.

http://kenliu.co.uk/a-quick-twitter-cards-test-with-kitties/

No metatags found

I’ve used a metatag validator, http://smo.knowem.com/

and for Twitter I’m getting 66.7% for Twitter tags, however, the open graph tags fallback are present

Have copied Jetpack generated tags

<!-- Jetpack Open Graph Tags -->
<meta property="og:type" content="article" />
<meta property="og:title" content="A quick Twitter cards test with kitties" />
<meta property="og:url" content="http://kenliu.co.uk/a-quick-twitter-cards-test-with-kitties/" />
<meta property="og:description" content="Just testing Twitter cards integration with Wordpress..." />

@kenhliu I’m seeing an HTTP 406 Not Acceptable error when our bot tries to connect to your site.

#14

Aha, @andypiper - spoke to webhosts and all fixed, cards validated, just testing it out with a live tweet. Thanks for your help

PS - the validator would be more useful if it could give more detailed error reports?

Thanks for that feedback - indeed you’re right, and we are always looking to improve our tools so I’ll pass that on to the team for the future.
