Twitter ads api data and dashboard data is not matching for few fields after Jan 2021

We are calling the twitter ads api to get ads data but there seems to be mismatch in fields such as impressions, clicks, cost, conversion, revenue from the month of January 2021.

The mentioned fields are not matching with the UI. Can you please help here?

We did some research before and found that we need to use both the placement values(ALL_ON_TWITTER and PUBLISHER_NETWORK) in order to get the exact data.

We did this change too, but still the data is not matching.
Could someone please help out here?

One immediate thing I noticed is you have included the timezone in the end_time and start_time parameters and it does not match the ad account’s default time zone. The Ads Manager UI displays data based on the account’s timezone, so if you pull data via the API and specifies a different timezone, it is not going to match with the UI.

The ad account 8wd5j timezone is America/Los_Angeles, while you specified a UTC timezone (T:00:00:00Z) in the API. You can look at this doc on how to set your timezone in the API request Timezones | Docs | Twitter Developer Platform. I recommend though for you to leave out the timezone in the start_time and end_time parameters, if you leave it out it’ll default to the ad account’s default timezone i.e. just input the date 2021-01-01 .

Also make sure to refer to this doc Overview | Docs | Twitter Developer Platform on some common items to take note of when comparing data between API and UI.

If the data still doesn’t match after making that change, please provide an example more specifically:

• API call request
• API response
• Which data field value in the API response that doesn’t match with UI, as an example
• Name of the column you’re comparing that data to in the UI

I tried querying this example campaign evjdh:

But there are no results as there’s no data for that campaign in that time frame, which matches the Ads Manager UI.

Sorry for the delay. It looks like this is a known issue and we are trying to fix it. The conversion_purchases data from the UI is the accurate one, so you can treat that as the source of truth. The data from the UI includes data from deleted pixels, whereas the API does not. Hence the UI shows a more comprehensive data of your campaigns. I’ll update when this is fixed!
