Tweets new API

Is there a specific timeline for changes to tweets and new API for tweets? according to this: https://blog.twitter.com/2016/doing-more-with-140-characters it will be in coming months but is there a specific target date?

There’s additional information on this in the recently-published Gnip support documentation, but this will be a staged rollout and you should expect the changes to URL attachments to be separate from the new @reply formats. There’s currently no published target date for the changes in their entirety.
