Tweeting same content in multiple accounts restriction



Regarding this change , we are making changes in our product,

  1. Can anyone know that what will be error response if we post same content in diff twitter accounts via api?
  2. one more question, Can we schedule same content in different time period from single twitter account?

Regarding tweet content duplication

Hi there -

Any violation of policy by posting duplicate content could be met with a variety of error responses. We strongly suggest that you don’t post such content to begin with.

Re: your second question - This policy applies regardless of whether the Tweets are published to Twitter at the same time, or are scheduled/queued for future publication (across any set of time zones).

Yes, from user timeline as the user is willing to. However, why would users want to duplicate same article/post?
No, not allowed for the app.


User can schedule tweets to reach people in different times with weekly once / twice to get more impressions.


Please note that posting duplicate content at the individual / user level is considered spam under the Twitter Rules:

Can you please clarify a few things regarding duplicate content…

If a user tweets something and then a couple of months later wants to tweet the same thing, for example, an inspirational quote, is that not allowed either? It seems your guidelines are really more to avoid spammers, but this type of duplication doesn’t seem like spam.

So, is it a violation of terms if a user were to do repeat a tweet like that with months in between? Or is there some other time frame that would be okay? If they were repeating the link they were sharing but the tweet was different, that’s okay right? How can we determine if the tweet it self would be “substantially” different enough to not qualify as duplicative?

Also, would it make a difference if they were using a 3rd party tool to do any of those things, versus tweeting live?
