Tweet search does not return any coordinates

#1

Hi,

So I’ve recently gone back to update an old app from last year where I used to do a search of the twitter timeline for certain tweets, in this case for a privacy awareness site I was creating. I have found now since Twitter did their update of the API whenever I search tweets, I am getting nowhere near as many tweets back in the search result for ‘/search/tweets.json?q=home&result_type=recent’ as I used to last year and further to that there are no coordinates attached to any tweets any more. Can anyone tell me has Twitter done this to stop data scraping or to protect users now? Or has it changed where you have to actually search a specific place rather than query the word ‘home’?

In my PHP coding I’m using the following as the means of searching using GET:-

https://api.twitter.com/1.1/search/tweets.json?q=home&result_type=recent

So should I be using something else instead?

Any help or advice very much appreciated

Thanks!

Dave.
