Tweet reply's response contains .(dot) infront of username

Reply in :

Reply response via twitter rest api contains full_text value as:

“full_text”:".@test_a_bit testing 123…",

It has .(dot) infront of the username(test_a_bit) . But in twitter we didnt specify any .(dot) while replying. Please clarify this.

Any update?

As far as I know Twitter won’t add dots to the text of tweets.

Try it in twitter api console. Get tweet info by using this id 854289786953191424 with “tweet_mode=extended”. You will get this response.

This may be a side effect of the effort not to change the fan-out rules for simplified replies. I am not certain.

Can you please explain in details?
